I have 2 ideas concerning our guild, and I'm gonna address them separately below. 1. Guild SkypeDo all of us use enough Skype to make a guild Skype group? I don't want this Skype group to be anything like FUCKN GET ONLINE YOU NUBS kinda place, but more like friendly reminders, and most importantly, general life chats. You found an interesting link? Put it in the group, instead of waiting some people to get on TS just to give it to those who were online. This could make us more like a group of friends than just guildies... I know Skype groups do annoy some people with the constant pings, so there's a con to that idea. Thoughts? 2. Guild RecruitmentI've been thinking about how we keep lacking numbers, no matter in guild runs or guild mission(s). It's difficult to gather up everyone because real life would sometimes be our top priorities, or sometimes our stupid ffffffffff bloody Virgin Internet just won't bloody work. >_> Is it time to recruit more members to our small guild? We don't have to make it something super serious or anything. And especially since we have a lot of roamers in our guild, we could recruit roamers, make it a roamers/scouts guild. I obviously don't exactly know which direction our guild is going, but hopefully you get the gist. <(^- ^< )

I like the idea of the guild Skype group but my concern is exactly what you said, constant pings and it would get to the stage in which most people myself included would just mute or leave it.
But on the note of Guild Recruitment that is something that I defiantly want to pursue. The aim of this forum was to have a starting point for people joining the guild and an easier way for the schedule to be listed (most people don't even read the message of the day). It also creates a more community feel where builds can be shared and new events can be started with greater detail.
The first step really is to get all the current members set up on the guild website and have it start to thrive, hopefully this will be achieved sooner rather than later.
The next stages comes in the form on post on the Gandara guilds section of the forum advertising the us, but first we need to define what sort of guild we really are (the will be open to discussions). And last but not least advertising the guild with a snappy message in game to bring in local foot traffic.

On the note about advertising our guild on the Gandara forums: I've said this to Paul and Chris (on Twitter/Skype) before, I want to be the "PR" for both [GANK] and [HUGS] (when HUGS starts its PvX adventures in the future), but these few days I realize Indi might do a better job at it for GANK than I do. Ofc I'd think you'd do the guild introduction Rugi, I'm just saying about future "Hey we have raids" or "Hey we're recruiting" kinda thing. I'm sure everyone has a different "sight" for the guild, as we all have different playstyles, but I think generally, we are roamers who would also join zergs, especially on reset night. Imo, "there's a time and place for everything" applies here, I'd zerg when needed (especially since I love joining TS and follow a good commander), but I'd also roam around with you guys when there's not one going on. This is completely MY view for the future of the guild, and tbh, I'm open to whatever direction the guild takes, as long as we play together and it's not too stressful.

Well as things progress we can work out the roles and what peoples strong points are, but honestly I don't want to be stuck in this alone making all the effort for little to no return.

I don't like skype just because this is bugged, slow, never working software that is in microsoft hands. But I would love the idea of jabber conference . It would be more comfortable, there are many jabber clients for any OS. But maybe something like a chat box on this forum will be good enough.

Oh man the bugs! I've been using a legacy version of Skype for ages and refusing to update, on the basis that it works and the last time I updated it, it rendered the entire program inoperable. Such a heap of junk.
Is Jabber basically Google Talk Mera? I think they used to run on the same protocol didn't they?

Okay, I cannot agree more on how shitty Skype is HAHA, I raged at Skype yesterday night while trying to get it working on my phone. Like seriously, if you may fix your shit please Microsoft. They can surely, they're big enough...then again, there was Vista. -shivers-

Well, I'm not sure about current situation, but googletalk used jabber protocol to communicate with google's server. This is just one of many implementations of jabber client and server.
