I am always intrigued about all things Christmas, but mostly, of different people's Christmas cultures. Which is why I always ask people about it, but could never get the full picture/story about them.
So I hope y'all would share your Christmas traditions and a picture of your Christmas tree with me. x3
In Hong Kong, we unfortunately don't have much Christmas traditions, as it's a Western holiday. So every year, everyone would be outside, all the shops would be open, there may be some Christmas sales to drive traffic and sales. People would go to Disneyland or picnics or just anything. Very seldom would people stay at home. It does not feel cosy, but at the end of the day, you may end up with several things you never thought you needed, bought at 50% off. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We also don't have a traditional presents opening day, but our family does. We open our presents on Dec 26th at 12am midnight. (i.e.: 25th night) Our public holidays (i.e. for everyone except retail workers) are on 25th and 26th, so we get 2 days off for Christmas which is better than in Mainland China where they don't really have much celebration, though I think they're slowly starting to get 25th a day off too, but I'm not sure.
Here is my Christmas tree tonight, we try to fill it as much as possible as we are only a family of 3. (Censored my address on that envelope, and yes, my tree is the Leaning Tower of Christmas Tree. Whilst below that is my Christmas cards display, I update it when I get new cards.
