We're currently running PvE Raids for 2 hours on Thursdays at 7pm and Sunday at 3pm. If we have less than 5 online we'll probably run dungeons. As for this thread, I'll try my best to keep it up to date with how we are progressing, what our current available roster is, relevant information on builds, guides etc. This will also be a place to discuss raids as a group. We can give feedback on our efforts, what we are doing well, where can we improve. Full Roster Sheet with available alternates
The roster sheet also contains links to builds and relevant raiding information, anyone here can edit it, if you have links to relevant builds or any notes on the builds listed feel free to. If you have another raid ready class and you're happy to play them if needed, let me know. Also for those interested and not on the current roster let me know. Current Progress - Spirit Vale - Sabetha 46% | Stronghold Of The Faithful - Escort Complete We successfully killed Vale Guardian for the 1st time on 30th June! We killed Gorseval for the 1st time on 25th September! We successfully escorted Glenna for the 1st time on 9th October!

Some feedback for our 1st run.
We were learning well, we were getting better with mechanics and getting more dps in as time passed by. Me and Rugi also noted everyone was communicating so much more at the end, which was great to hear. It made everyone's lives easier. By the end I felt we had all the mechanics down we just needed a "perfect" run where we didn't make mistakes on the mechanics. For example there was a couple of times where a green circle spawned in an area that was lit up.
For myself, I have a few things I need to do. I need to learn to DPS Vale Guardian from the back, there were a few times I just let him hit me because I was in front of it, when if I was behind it wouldn't be an issue. My HP was only 11.5k which left me with no room for mistakes, this meant I was downed fairly regularly. So I'm going to tweak my build and add some more Vitality to it sacrificing some Crit Chance because when we were buffed up I critted all the time. I need to upgrade my main dagger from exotic to Ascended just for some extra stats. I need to decide what my offhand should be, I had a Warhorn initially but I felt it added nothing much apart from some additional heals. I could go for a 2nd dagger for more DPS or a Focus for more utility. I want to review my Utility skills, currently I have Signet Of Fire, Glyph Of Storms, Aftershock and Glyph Of Elementals. I think I have better options like Rebound. I need to tweak traits a little.

Feedback -
Pretty inexperienced to any raiding, but I think we did pretty well for our first practice run judging by other groups who barely succeed despite being many runs in.
From watching many successful runs, I think we need to focus on improving the following.
CC Speed. It seems that the faster his breakbar is down, the more successful things are overall. Whilst ranged can add to the cc, our focus should be primarily on green circles, so cannot be relied on for CC. We seemed really good at times on it, and poor on others.
Green Circles. We should have 5 people assigned specifically for this, 3 condi range and healer + 1 fast person able to get there in case. Our focus during the fight should be on spotting green and automatically running to it asap. We were often engrossed in our dps rotations. DPS players shouldn't need to look for green, all the successful runs ive seen so far on youtube had the two groups separate, so damage was constant on VG. So the 3 condis, john and 1 other should be assigned to green circle, and focus on that task to make sure it gets done.
personal.
VG doesnt really help proc loads of minions, so I use blood magic instead of death magic, this is a small dps loss, but sustain is much higher. In addition I use a trait that on whirl (skill 4 reaper) heals, which is really handy for minion survival on the red guardian because no druid to heal them. That should be used in rotation all the time, sometimes i forgot to do that, as dps stacks up faster with scepter attacks anyway. Saving reaper 5 for cc should only be needed at the end of the split section, and whirling in that stacks a load of bleeds.
I think the build was pretty optimal for vg, a few times i got downed by teleporting into lit areas or one time someone knocked a red orb into me X3, however I do seem to be lacking condi duration due to less viper items. I shall work on getting a viper warhorn and an amulet. Also going to try and get a rampager ascended backpiece, as im currently using rabid with sinister jewel, so rampager with diamond should synergise better. Backpiece and warhorn are the only non ascended bits so far, so not a huge amount of work left to do there.

The CC speed is something I forgot to mention, it was the one thing as a group we were poor at throughout the night. Breakbar Table @ Metabattle
The link above has a breakdown of each Condition we can put out and how much it does to the breakbar. It's worth all players checking it out and scrolling down to see a list of available CC's on all classes.

A few things that I realize I couldn't do for the CCs, which I'd probably need advice on how to improve. (More so for point 2)
1. During the split phase, when the HP of the split goes to 0 and we had to CC them, I often forgot that I need it after and use it to CC the split mob. Because when the Vale Guard is back up, his CC bar often comes up before my hard CC (Warhorn #4) comes off CD. So I have learnt to not use it till VG comes back up, but that would also mean CC for the split mob is slower.
2. Green circles + VG's CC phase often comes up at the same time. That is my main problem, because if the green circle isn't close enough to VG, it means my short range hard CCs cannot hit the VG in time.

Once again, great job last night. I have managed to finish up my masteries now and I'm up to 169. Just a note on the spreadsheet I created, I've added a few more sheets for options, and pretty much anyone can edit it now.

Congrats you bitches (especially Spuzz <3), now you must carry me next week. (If I can attend, I'm not entirely sure when the charity event happens next week. It's either 7th or 8th, but I don't even know the time for it yet.)
